Sponsor Spotlight: Burdy's Embellies

It's time to turn the spotlight on this month's sponsor, and this month it is none other than...

For those who don't know, Burdy's Embellies is owned and run by our very own boss lady here at SUYS, Vicki Burdon. Burdy's Embellies are perfect for all sorts of papercrafts, such as scrapbooking and cardmaking, as well as off the page projects, mixed media and even home decor or fashion accessories. They have been featured on layouts published in Scrapbooking Memories magazine and you will often see them popping up on our Design Team's work too.

I asked Vicki to tell us a bit about Burdy's Embellies...

"Burdy's Embellies unofficially started back in 2010, when we were hosting online Craft Markets on the Scrapbooking Top 50 forum. After selling my embellishments at a few markets, I thought it was time to make it more official, and Burdy's Embellies got a name. Since then, there has been more craft markets, a Burdy's blog and Facebook page. Over the past couple of years it has been harder to find time to create, with a husband, 3 children and a farm to look after, but I am hoping 2015 will see more time to get crafty and the return of more regular sales for Burdy's Embellies. I love seeing what people create using things I have made, and it's especially exciting seeing them published too!"

Here is the prize pack that Vicki is generously providing for this month's winner - bursting with Burdy's Embellies handmade goodies!

And now you have a chance to grab some for your stash too - Burdy's Embellies is currently having a sale over on the blog! There are some old favourites, mixed with new lines available. But you will have to be quick, the sale ends Saturday! Check it out HERE

Now onto our most exciting news...we are very pleased to announce we have some new faces joining our DT this year! Please welcome...

Hi there - my name is Kylie I live in a little rural town Gundagai in NSW, I run a little boutique style scrapbooking store Scrappingclearly in the main street it's my happy place I am also online…. Married to David mum two Royce who is almost 18 and Chelsea 15 a pigeon pair…. I have been scrapbooking for over 18 years and enjoy it and am even more addicted today ! I also love to play sports Touch Football and Hockey and I am forever in my car touring my children all over the country with theirs…… I love Fashion and the shopping that goes along with it…...

I have evolved lots in my time scrapbooking - I don't have any particular style and love to create in various ways from traditional to Mixed Media, Project Life and I am huge fan of Memory Files. I was lucky enough to become a Scrapbooking Memories Masters in 2006 and a Elite Member of For Keeps, learning so much along the way! I just love to create and to take photographs to document my families life. I have my own studio which was once my husbands tool shed (long story) :0) - can't wait to share some of my creations with you all….

I live in a little as in teeny tiny country town just outside of Toowoomba in Queensland. I'm a house painter during the day and mum of 2. Tarj 8 and Ivy almost 7.
I've had a recent break from scrapping for a year or so as I had lost ALL of my creative mojo. But now I'm getting back into it with a love of making my own backgrounds as well as some semi traditional layout with a random twist.

I live in Melbourne, am married with 2 children, Melanie aged 24 and Kieran aged 21. I work as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse, offering support to families with children aged from birth to 4 years of age. It is a rewarding job, which I really enjoy. For my wind down, I like to be creative. I have been dabbling in many different crafts for many years, starting with quilting. I have tried many things and vowed and declared I would never do scrapbooking. That declaration didn't last long, and I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago, after seeing what my own mother was creating. I like to try many different things, at the moment am enjoying mixed media. I don't think I have any particular style of scrapping, but do love to add a flower or two to my layouts.

Hi Lisette here. I live in Sydney with my hubby of almost 25 years, two daughters 20 & 18, a dog and 2 cats. It's a new era in our household as DD finished school last year. Still working out what I want to do when I grow up, hopefully 2015 will bring some clarity. Ours is a netball household with all but hubby playing and umpiring. I have been scrapping for about 10 years. I have always been crafty - tapestry, cross stich, folk art, paper tole, quilting and currently loving teaching myself (with the aid of uTube) to crochet. Don't really know how to describe my style it changes all the time. At the moment I love using mists and masks. I got some Gelatos for Christmas so am looking forward to creating with those. I love using bright colours and almost always will have a flower or two (or more) on my layouts.
I am so excited to be on my first Design Team here at Show Us Your Stuff.

January Challenge!

Happy new year everyone! Welcome to the first of our challenges for 2015!
Firstly, thank you to everyone who found the time to play along with our December challenge, and we hope that everyone that couldn't will be able to join us this month.

We thought we would ease you all into the new year with a nice, gentle challenge - a sketch! And this month's beautiful sketch has been designed by our very own DT member Amanda Hartmann. So the challenge is simple - use the sketch to inspire your own creation, and don't forget to include a handmade embellishment somewhere on your layout. (It doesn't have to be made by you!)

Here is the sketch...

And this month's sponsor is none other than...

I am sure many of you would already know who Burdy's Embellies is, but for those who don't, Burdy's belongs to me (Vicki Burdon). I will tell you more about Burdy's Embellies on another day, but for now you can find Burdy's
